When the Samsung S8+ was first launched in March of last year, it heralded the onset of bezel-less displays. Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ forged a new path for phone designs by stripping out bezels on their 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch infinity displays, respectively. Both were the first to boast the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor by Qualcomm. Add to that its excellent battery life and top-notch camera; both the handsets restored Samsung as a market leader for high-end phones.

The awesome part is that Samsung Galaxy S8+ is available for affordable EMIs on Airtel’s Online Store. Let’s check out what makes the Airtel Online Store so different and what makes the S8+ a must-have smartphone.

Affordable EMIs on Airtel Online Store

To ensure that the Airtel Online Store provides an easy and hassle-free financing solution, Airtel has partnered with Seynse Technologies (developers of Loan Singh). This collaboration allows a customer to simply add the smartphone to his/her cart, purchase the smartphone via instant credit verification (& fund transfer) and receive the same at their doorstep. This is a pioneering process of the Airtel Online Store that combines both e-commerce and instant online financing.

Goa-based Seynse Technologies Pvt. Ltd prides itself in being associated with Airtel for the Airtel Online Store in allowing creditworthy individuals to buy the smartphones. The role of Seynse, in the partnership, is to enable the technology and credit underwriting. Seynse simply determines if the customer is eligible to avail credit. This is nothing new for Seynse. Seynse is already the developer of a LaaS (Lending as a Service) platform called Loan Singh, which provides an online personal loan to salaried individuals. Loan Singh covers the entire digital loan lifecycle from application to disbursement, including EMI repayment and managing fund flow. Seamless integration between participating entities makes the entire loan lifecycle an everlasting experience.

What can we say about the Samsung Galaxy S8+, that hasn’t been said before? The Galaxy S8+ is a great example of a bezel-less phone. The infinity display stretches from edge to edge. Despite having a big screen-to-body ratio, the sleekness is offered by the Gorilla Glass curving on the front and back. With a 6.2-inch screen, you will need bigger hands to maneuver the phone. The home button is not a tactile button anymore. It is a virtual one. It provides solid haptic feedback and is supported by the back button and recent apps button.

The phone comes with facial recognition and iris scanning. The phone unlocks faster and even in the dark. The OLED screen offered here provides a bright picture with great color accuracy and vivid colors. The aspect ratio of 18.5:9 works well while watching videos or playing games. The speaker produces great sound. With the phone coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, a 4GB memory, and 64GB storage, there might not be any need for a card expansion.

There is no lag experienced when using the multi-window mode for streaming a live video or watching YouTube videos. You can access Samsung’s Device Management feature by swiping from the Edge tab. The feature gives you a quick preview of battery status, overall phone status, available storage, memory usage and power mode. The optimization button lets you clean the cache and help you free up space.

The 12-megapixel camera is virtually the same as the S7 but it also comes with some rocking software enhancements. The front camera allows you to shoot in 8-megapixel, which is fantastic. There is a new multi-image processing feature introduced. Once you take multiple images of the same object, the best one is selected and enhanced with added detailing. There are Snapchat-like filters added for tweaking the photos you take. There are silly emojis and animal masks to add. You can shoot your pictures in modes such as slow-mo, pro, food, and panoramas. The front 8 MP camera comes with a wide-angle lens, which is apt for selfies. You can also shoot videos in 4K at 30 frames per second. The slow-mo video shoots at 720p and 240 fps.

Samsung’s personal assistant, Bixby is different from Siri and Cortana. You can use voice commands to control your phone instead of tapping the phone. You can ask Bixby to show you emails from a particular sender. Armed with Android Nougat, the phone’s interface feels intuitive and easy to understand. You don’t have to tap on a button to see all the apps, simply swipe down from the middle of the screen and swipe left to see additional apps. Swiping down from the top of the screen lets you see your notifications and quick-settings shortcuts. Swiping from the left lets you access the device maintenance screen. Add to this the features such as one-handed mode and the ability to launch the camera by pressing the power key two times.

The Galaxy S8+ also works with Samsung Gear VR. The Samsung Connect app lets you control the Samsung branded smart home gear. The products you can control are the Samsung robot vacuum, Samsung Family hub fridge, and Samsung Connect Home. You get an LED view cover and a wireless charging stand as well. Compared to the 3600 mAh battery of the S7 Edge, the battery of Samsung Galaxy S8+ is smaller at 3500 mAh. Despite this, you will have enough charge lasting up to 11 hours with standard usage.
